The Christmas Multi-zone Conferences 

When the missionaries first arrive to the mission home I ask them to fill out a questionnaire that asks them what their hobbies, talents and abilities were before the mission.  I put this information with their photo on a spreadsheet and use it to know who to call on when we need a piano player, music director, computer expert and so forth.  

Because we have a tradition in the Whitehead family of sharing our talents on Christmas, we have had a talent sharing part of the Christmas Conference for our missionaries every year.  We have been amazed at the talented missionaries that the Lord has sent to this mission and feel extremely blessed.  I brought a lot of music with me to the mission and much of that was Christmas music.  

I used the music I brought and also searched on line for Christmas music and brought with me a stack of music when we held zone conferences in November and December.  I let those who wanted to do solos choose the piece they would like to play. They had to find an instrument to borrow, and use preparation day to practice.  Most of the missionaries only had 1-3 preparation days to practice their musical number and did an excellent job.  

The missionaries who chose to sing in a chorus met early on the morning of the performance.  I sent the  music by email to them the week before because we had changes in the mission and I didn't know who was going to be in what zone (multi-conference Christmas program) until then.  I asked a member of the chorus to be in charge and a  missionary accompanied the chorus.  

I am so proud of the diligence and professionalism of our wonderful missionaries. 

Cuando los misioneros llegan a la casa de la misión les pido que llene un cuestionario que les pregunta lo que eran sus talentos, pasatiempos y habilidades antes de la misión. Puse esta información en la computadora para saber a quien podemos pedir tocar el piano, dirigir la musica o saber a quien tiene conocimientos de informática o algo así. 

Utilicé la música traje y busqué en línea la música de la Navidad y traje un montón de la música conmigo cuando realizamos las conferencias de zonas en noviembre y diciembre. Aquellos que quisieron realizar un solo eligieron la música que les gustaría tocar o contar.  Tuvieron que encontrar un instrumento para prestar y usaron 1 - 3 días de preparación para practicar.  Ellos contaron o tocaron de una manera de excelencia. 

Envié la música por correo electrónico a ellos la semana antes porque tuvimos cambios de la misión y no sabía quien iba a estar in las zonas hasta entonces. Le pedí que un miembro del coro fuera responsable a estar encargado del coro pedí otro misionero acampanó el coro. Todos los misioneros se reunieron bien temprano para practicar conmigo o con su coro.  

Estoy tan orgullosa de la diligencia y profesionalismo de nuestros maravillosos misioneros.
