Adiós a los maravillosos misioneros

It's never easy saying adios to our wonderful missionaries but we know that we must. 

And thanks to Elder McKell y Elder Emch, we inherited this beautiful banner, made for Elder McKell who handed it down to Elder Emch, I believe.  Our missionaries are loved by the members and those they have baptized. 
Nunca es fácil decir adiós a nuestros maravillosos misioneros pero sabemos que debemos.  Y gracias a Elder McKell y Elder Emch hemos heredado esta hermosa bandera, la cual fue dada a Elder McKell, que la dio a Elder Emch, creo.  Los miembros y nuevos conversos aman a nuestros misioneros.

I couldn't help but take notice of this beautiful plant art on the side of a mall in Mexico a few days ago.  Isn't it beautiful?

Yo no pude sino tomar nota de esta hermosa arte de las plantas en el lado de una centro comercial en la Ciudad de México hace unos días.  ¿No es hermoso?

We love Sister Missionaries

We have had to say goodbye to some excellent missionaries.  A few of our missionaries leave in the middle of changes by themselves.  No matter when they leave, it's always hard to see them go.  We appreciate their service and dedication and wish them the best. 

Hemos tenido que decir adiós a algunas misioneras excelentes.  Algunas de nuestras misioneras dejan en medio de los cambios por sí mismas.  No importa cuando se van, siempre es difícil verlas ir. Apreciamos sus servicios y dedicaciones y les deseamos lo mejor.

Three-week Training Meeting

September 16, 2015

On September 16 we held a three week training for all the newest missionaries and their trainers.  They seemed happy to get together with their generation to talk and learn.  These trainings are always a great place for the trainer to get ideas and be motivated too.

El 16 de septiembre llevamos a cabo una capacitación en la mitad de los cambios para todos los nuevos misioneros y sus entrenadores.  Parecían encantados de reunirse con sus generación para hablar y aprender.  Siempre las capacitaciones son un gran lugar para que el entrenador pueda obtener ideas y estar motivado también. 

Día de Independencia   

¡Viva México!

The 15th of September is Mexico's Independence Day.  (Cinco de Mayo, May 5th, is the independence day of the state of Puebla and usually has no significance to anyone not living in that particular state of México.)  The streets are lined with carts selling anything and everything red, white and green and all things Mexican.  The government buildings are all decorated beautifully.  Tonight we'll expect to see fireworks and cannons going off all night long.  The missionaries are not allowed to be out of their apartments after 8:00 p.m. I took this photo at the Zocolo, which is equivalent to Washington D.C. in the USA.  

El 15 de Septiembre es el Día de la independencia.  (Cinco de mayo, 5 de mayo, es el día de la independencia del estado de Puebla y por lo general no tiene significado a nadie que no vive en ese particular estado de México.)  Las calles están cubiertas con carros que venden cualquier cosa que es roja, blanca y verde y toda cosa Mexicana. Los edificios del gobierno están decorados hermosamente.  Esta noche esperaremos ver fuegos artificiales y cañones toda la noche.  Los misioneros no se les permiten estar fuera de sus apartamentos después de las 8:00 de la tarde.  Esta foto estaba sacado in el Zocolo. 

El día de bautismo para la familia Camiruaga

Que privilegio para nosotros asistir el bautismo de la familia Camiruaga. 

Maravillosas familias como esta familia están siendo bautizadas cada semana.  Los misioneros estan trabajando muy duro para asegurarse de que estas buenas personas se quedarán con la iglesia y disfrutar de las muchas bendiciones que vienen de vivir el evangelio de Jesucristo. 

What a privilige for us to attend the baptism of the Camiruaga family.  Wonderful families like this family are being baptized each week.  The missionaries are working very hard to make sure that these good people will stay with the church and enjoy the many blessings that come from living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Elder D. Todd Christofferson

A highlight of the mission for President Whitehead and I was when our mission had the opportunity to meet together and learn from an apostle of the Lord, Elder D. Todd Christofferson.   Un destacar de la misión para el Presidente Whitehead y yo fue cuando nuestro misión tuvo  la oportunidad de reunirse y aprender de un apóstol del Señor, Elder D. Todd Christofferson. 

Here are some of the notes that I took: 

We learned about having faith in Christ.  He taught that the missionaries are authorized to preach and have been called by a prophet of God to do so.  He said that this is a sacred work, even though we are weak and imperfect.  When asked how we can have this spirit and fire that we feel now for the rest of our lives, we were told, Dedicate everything you have to the Lord.  You're going to have other responsibilities, but you can do it.  You CAN keep doing those things that you have learned on your mission for the rest of your life. 

He told us that if we want to develop a deeper love for your Father in Heaven we have to love Him.  We're not going to love Him if we're not doing His will.  

He said that charity changes everything.  Show it and use it.  You can't imitate it.  It's only through love and prayer that we can receive it. We need to respond every time we receive inspiration from the Holy Ghost. 

Everything centers around the Book of Mormon. It is instrumental in our lives.  If you want to stay in the church, read it and follow the inspiration that you will receive. 

The mission was given a beautiful apostolic blessing that I'm not allowed to share on a blog.  

Estas son algunas notas que tomé:

Aprendimos sobre tener la fe in Cristo.  Nos ensenó que los misioneros estan autorizados a predicar y han sido llamados por un profeta de Dios para hacerlo. Dijo que esto es una obra sagrada, aunque somos débiles e imperfectos.  Cuando se le preguntó cómo podemos tener este espíritu y fuego que nos sentimos ahora por el resto de nuestras vidas, se nos dijo, dedicar todo lo que tienen al Señor.  Ustedes van a tener otras responsabilidades, pero se puede hacerlo. Pueden seguir haciendo las cosas que han aprendido en sus misiones por el resto de sus vidas. Nos dijo que si queremos desarrollar un amor más profundo por su Padre Celestial Le tenemos que amar. Y no vamos a amarle si no estamos haciendo Su voluntad. 

Dijo que la caridad cambia todo.  Muéstrela y úsela.  No puede imitarla.  Es sólo a través del amor y de la oración que podemos recibirla. Tenemos que responder cada vez que recibimos la inspiración del Espíritu Santo. 

Todo se centra en el libro de Mormón.  Es fundamental en nuestras vidas.  Si quiere quedarse en la iglesia, léala y siga la inspiración que recibirá.  

La misión también, recibió una hermosa bendición apostólica que no estoy autorizada a compartir en un blog.
